Story: When I first started college it was a little hard getting used to my new schedule. I had classes at different times each morning so it was difficult adjusting to a pattern. At the time I was on the birth control pill, which I took every morning when I woke up. The weekends are what really messed up my routine. Sometimes I would go to parties, stay out really late, and then sleep in past noon the next day. On occasion I would also get a little too drunk at the parties and have a huge hangover the next morning. The last thing I was thinking about was taking my pill. But then I would suddenly remember in the afternoon that I had forgotten to take it and would rush to find my pills. I realized that with the form of birth control that I was on I needed to be more mindful of taking my pills on time. I needed to prioritize my birth control before my partying, because getting pregnant is a lot worse than missing a night out.
